DEXTER -- A Stoddard County man is in fair condition following a Friday stabbing, and the two suspects remain in custody.
On Friday, Dexter Police officers responded to a home in the southeast section of Dexter regarding an assault. Upon arrival, they located a 34-year-old male in distress in his residence, who had been assaulted and stabbed five times in his lower left back.
The victim, whose name is being withheld, was transported by ambulance to Missouri Southern Health Care, where he was treated and later transported to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He was listed in fair condition.
Upon further investigation, two suspects were identified and placed into custody Saturday. Stoddard County warrants were issued for Ricky House Jr., 26; and Randy Glen House, 43, both of Dexter. Each was charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action.
Bond for Randy House was set at $75,000 cash only, while Ricky House's bond was set at $50,000 cash only. As of press time, both remained in custody in the Stoddard County Jail.
