SIKESTON -- Michele Dawn Beard and Lucas Michael Shubert were united in marriage during a 3 p.m. June 21, 2008, at St. Anthony's Church in Lively Grove, Ill. The Rev. Dennis Voss officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Vivian Beard of Matthews and the late Charles Beard. The bridegroom is the son of Clyde and Joanne Shubert of Okawville, Ill.
Providing music for the occasion was organist Jewell Meyer. Reader was Melinda Taylor, friends and family of the couple.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her children, Nicholas Beard and Charlee Oliver, who also served as flower girl. The bride wore a white Mary's Bridal spaghetti strap A-line dress which featured a sweetheart neckline adorned with crystals and beading. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses and calla lilies.
Maid of honor was Candy Ward of Sikeston, friend of the bride. Bridesmaid was Jeannie Beard of Manassas, Va., sister-in-law of the bride. They wore knee-length black dresses and carried a single hand-tied Calla Lily. The flower girl carried a bouquet of yellow and white daisies.
Best man was Kyle Linder of Belleville, Ill, friend of the bridegroom. Adam Shubert, brother of the bridegroom, was the groomsman. Ushers were Chrys Beard of Manassas, Va., brother of the bride; and Ryan Lintker of Okawville, friend of the bridegroom.
The bridegroom wore a black suit and silver tie with a white calla lily boutonniere. The other men of the bridal party wore black suits and red ties, with miniature calla lily boutonnieres.
A reception followed the ceremony at the St. Anthony Lively Grove Church Hall.
The couple are making their home in Sikeston.
