SACC has been busy, and it's all on the Web

I want to thank for one last time the sponsors and participants of our Third Annual Rodeo Run the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce held on Aug. 2 at the Sikeston Sports Complex. We had a lot of fun with 82 runner/walkers participating in the 1 mile fun event and the 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk event. You can go to our Web site at www.sikeston.net and see pictures of the winners.

Speaking of our Web site, we have just launched our new Bootheel Regional Training Group (BRTG) page. In this section, our customized training group members can review the fall schedule of classes for their employees and we have added a new feature that will allow them to enroll their employees in the specific classes the wish to take.

We are very proud of this feature and are the only customized training group in our area to offer this service. The Bootheel Regional Training Group is a sub committee of the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce and has taken on the task of training our current workforce in the latest technologies that will improve their job performance.

Our BRTG group works with Southeast Missouri State University, Three Rivers Community College, and contract instructors to provide the best continuing education available to the four county area. For more information about the BRTG go to our Web site at www.sikeston.net or contact us at the SACC offices at 573-471-2498.

Don't forget Cotton Carnival is just around the corner. The Sikeston Jaycees have their Annual Car Show coming up and watch for our Annual Halloween Window Painting Contest sponsored by the Chamber and the Sikeston Elks at the end of October.

Again, for more information about all community events go to the SACC Web site at www.sikeston.net.
