PUXICO -- J.C. Taylor, 88, died Sept. 9, 2008, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 21, 1920, in White Oak, to the late William A. and Ora Carter Taylor, he had lived in the Puxico area all his life and was a member of the Local 527 Cement Masons. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a retired farmer and cement finisher and had worked for Bangert Brothers in St. Louis.
On Nov. 23, 1940, in Risco, he married Rosetta Woods, who preceded him in death on May 30, 1996.
Two brothers, Chester Taylor and Milton Taylor, and two sisters, Lucille DuBois and Mildred Dunning, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include: four daughters and three sons-in-law, Connie and Bill Crank of Puxico, and Welda and Jim Moore, Larna and Jerry McGowen and Lashay Taylor of Dudley; one grandson, Billy Crank of Puxico; and one great-grandson.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Friday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Catherine and J.C. Bryant of Poplar Bluff will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Puxico Cemetery.
