SCOTT CITY -- Donnie Gerald Ford Jr., 54, died at 7:08 p.m. Sept. 7, 2008, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
Born Dec. 7, 1953, at Sikeston, to Lorraine Lewis Ford Grimes of Sikeston and the late Donnie Gerald Ford Sr., he had worked in commercial heating and cooling. He had also worked as a sheet metal worker and carpenter, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam era.
In addition to his mother, survivors include: two brothers, Herman Grimes Jr. of Olive Branch, Miss. and Mark Grimes of Sikeston; and three sisters, Markey Ford of Little Rock, Ark., Cindy McClellan of Scott City and Sarah Thompson of Grand Junction, Colo.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Christy Dawn Ford.
A graveside memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Dogwood Cemetery. The Rev. Dwayne Coleman, pastor of Canalou Baptist Church, will officiate.
