SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Victor McCoy of Sikeston are parents of a son born Sept. 11. Twin boys were born on Sept. 11 to Mr. and Mrs. Valley Kimbral of Matthews and Mr. and Mrs. Dolan Uthoff of Canalou are parents of a son born yesterday.
BERNIE - Ann Merick will appear on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour on CBS television at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Miss Merick, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Merick of Bernie, is trying for her second win.
CHARLESTON - Community Betterment judges visited East Prairie Monday afternoon and expressed appreciation for the downtown revitalization efforts. Touring the city were Marsha Bain of Moberly; and A.C. Lasher of Marshall; CB judges; and Tony Knipp, business retention coordinator with the Department of Economic Development in Jefferson City, who was traveling with the judges to the various cities.
SIKESTON - The United Way of Sikeston officially began its fund drive on Thursday to raise $85,000. The money will be divided among 20 agencies throughout the area. Judy Beggs is serving as chairman of this year's fund drive.
