BERTRAND -- Rose Aline Vanpool Hinkle, 82, died Sept. 11, 2008, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born July 10, 1926, in Bertrand, to the late George Hal and Grace Adeline Brashears Vanpool, she had lived her entire life in Bertrand. She had attended the Church of God of Prophecy and was employed at Brown Shoe Company in Charleston for over 43 years until her retirement.

On March 9, 1946, she married Herman Hinkle who preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1946.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Bud Vanpool, Vester Vanpool, George Vanpool, Bobby Vanpool and Bill Vanpool; and one sister, Ellen Vanpool.

Survivors include: one sister, Nadine Pulliam of Bertrand; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Jim Eskew of Morley officiated.

Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
