SIKESTON -- Dennis Shawn Massey, 35, died Sept. 14, 2008, at his home.
Born May 29, 1973, in Sikeston, to Charles "Wesley" Massey of Nashville, Tenn., and Linda Washburn Burns of Sikeston, he graduated from Sikeston High School in 1992 and worked for the Volunteer Fire Department in Morehouse. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and farmed for Murray Planting Company.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: his wife, Karrie Irby Massey of Sikeston; two sons, Jaydon Massey and Leelan Massey of Morehouse; one daughter, Emilie Massey of Sikeston; one sister, Natalie Ledbetter of Sikeston; paternal grandmother, Cora Massey of Sikeston; and maternal grandmother, Zulene Washburn of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Massey and Lloyd Washburn.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial with full military honors provided by the Missouri Veterans Funeral Honor Guard will follow at 1 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
Pallbearers will be: David Murray, Eric Williams, Michael Comstock, Tim Massey, Chris Laferney, Mark Householder and Heath Hammon.
