ROCKWALL, Texas -- Ruth Abbott Kifer, 71, formerly of Dexter and Morehouse, Mo., died on Aug. 27, 2008.
Born July 26, 1937 in Dexter, she was the daughter of the late Delia Ray and James Kifer. She was a 1955 Morehouse High School graduate and moved to Texas where she retired from Denton State School. She had worked in the church nursery, was a school crossing guard and was active in the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Lesa and Jim Trickett of
LaVernia and Robin and William Mee of Rockwall; one sister, Ilene Marie Hill of Sikeston, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Justin Trickett, Brittany Trickett, Mallory Mee and Alyssa Mee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Johnie Eaton; and two sisters Annie Eastabrook and Ivy Whitley.
A memorial services was held Aug. 30 at the First Christian Chruch in Rockwall. A graveside service will be at 10 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston. Jimmy Trotter, pastor of the General Baptist Church of Morehouse, will officiate.
The Neptune Society was in charge of arrangements.
