CHARLESTON -- Betty Jane Jackson Goering, 64, died Sept. 17, 2008, at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 16, 1943, in Cairo, Ill., to the late Elbert "Ike" and Dorothy Fields Jackson, she had lived her entire life in rural Charleston. She had been employed as a bookkeeper with M&M Farms until ill health forced her retirement and was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Bertrand.
She is survived by two sisters, Bernice Pullen of River Ridge, La., and Norma Faye McConnell of Sikeston.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Neil Carr, on Dec. 20, 1990.
Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Friday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. David Cullen will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Walter Adams Sr., Walter Adams Jr., Bill O'Guin, Harold McConnell, Larry McConnell and Jerry Pendergrass.
