BERTRAND -- Kenneth James Chatman, 48, died at 4:40 p.m. Sept. 16, 2008, at his home.
Born Sept. 19, 1959, in Sikeston, to Claude E. Chatman of East Prairie and the late Stella Bruce Chatman, he was employed as a truck driver for Transvantage Transportation Inc. of Charleston. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served 17 years.
In May 1980, he married Tammy Hoots who survives of the the home.
He is also survived by two sons, Derrick Chatman and Daniel Chatman of Bertrand.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Chatman.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Millie Burns, pastor of House of Prayer General Baptist Church in Grant City, will officiate.
Burial with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Pallbearers will be: Dustin Slinkard, Robert Arnold, Shawn Payne, Korey Anders, Jeff Hart and Kevin Hart.
