LOWNDES -- Dorothy Marie Billingsley, 89, died Sept. 18, 2008, at her home.
Born Oct. 10, 1918, in Saginaw County, Mich., to the late Lewis J. and Doris H. Beach Rogers, she had lived in the Dexter and Bernie areas since 1950. In 1976, she moved to Lowndes where she was a member of the Community Church of Christ.
On Feb. 11, 1939, in Gladwin County, Mich., she married Raymond C. Billingsley who preceded her in death on May 1, 1995.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Charles Rogers, Richard Rogers, Sherman Rogers, Lewis Rogers and Russell McLean; one sister, Leona Chubb; one daughter in infancy; and one grandchild in infancy.
Survivors include: three sons, Curt Billingsley, Terry Billingsley and Rick Billingsley of Lowndes; one daughter, Sandra Knight of Lowndes; two brothers, Arthur Rogers and Jack Rogers of Lowndes; three sisters, Lottie Meese of Lowndes, Annabelle Schearer of Midland, Mich., and Darlene Ross of Dexter; and 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Community Church of Christ near Lowndes. Jack Rogers of Lowndes and Dale Rogers of Dexter will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Community Church of Christ Cemetery.
