BENTON -- Lois Eva Jones, 84, died Sept. 21, 2008 at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 27, 1924, in Finley, Tenn., daughter of the late Charles and Berdie Permenter Pinnon, she and her family owned Jones Grocery in Benton. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton and the Red Hat Society.
On Oct. 21, 1939, in Charleston, she married Elbert "Preacher" Jones, who preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1973.
One brother and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Don Jones of Benton and Bill Jones of East Prairie; one daughter, Jean McCourt of Benton; and five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Benton Chapel, where services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Dennis Lowe, pastor of Unity Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley.
