PERRYVILLE -- The Kelly Lady Hawks traveled to Perryville on Wednesday and came back with a 6-3 win over the Lady Pirates.
Heather Beggs (5-0) threw all seven innings giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits and four walks. She also had six strikeouts.
"She threw a good game for us," Kelly head coach Rhonda Ratledge said about Beggs. "She did a good job of moving the ball around and she kept them off balance with her change up. She pitched well."
The Lady Hawks had five hits on the day with Casey Kern connecting for two of those and was responsible for the only RBI while Londyn Backfisch had the only extra-base hit with a double. They benefited from eight Perryville errors to score the rest of their runs.
Kelly scored two runs in the first inning, three in the third and one in the fifth, while the Lady Pirates scored all three of their runs in the fourth.
