SIKESTON - A tentative opening date of Nov. 1 was set for the Missouri Delta Community Hospital, according to a written statement from E.P. Coleman Jr., president of the hospital board.

BLOOMFIELD - Elvis Mooney of Bloomfield was elected grand master of Missouri Masons at the annual meeting of the Grand Lodge in St. Louis. Mooney served as deputy grand master last year.

Sept. 28, 1988

SIKESTON - Pat Marble, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce, Friday bought the first $1 ticket to win an $800 patio deck from ABE Home Center. Selling her the ticket was Richard Hutchinson, president of ABE Home Center. The Kenny Rogers Cerebral Palsy Center will receive all the ticket proceeds.

SIKESTON - Ellen Payne, a maintenance employee at the Sikeston Factory Outlet Stores was honored as the fist Hospitality Host of the Quarter. Payne was one of five nominees for the award sponsored by the Sikeston-Miner Convention and Tourism Bureau.
