Born Dec. 12, 1932, in Maynard, Ark., to the late Reece and Sylvia Knotts Morgan, he was a retired Illinois State Trooper and received many awards and commendations for service. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge 424 in Bonne Terre.
He married Geraldean Abner, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Richard Morgan of Gillette, Wyo., Tony Tibbs of Denver and David Tibbs of Bonne Terre; two daughters, Patty Hughes of Farmington and Donna Bailey of Freeburg, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Konrath; one brother, Gordon Morgan; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One son, Gary Morgan; and one brother, Kenneth Morgan, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Pete Gaerdner Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill., where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday.
Burial will be in the New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
