MATTHEWS -- Martha Vanetta Roderick, 83, died Sept. 27, 2008, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 7, 1924, in Knoxall, to the late Goble and Vera (Hall) Trail, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of people and tending to her houseplants. She loved being with her family and friends and always said, "All I need is Love." She had plenty of love to give and also received it. She attended the First Christian Church in Matthews.
Oct. 31, 1965, in Reno, Nev., she married Glen Roderick, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Judy Lee and Joan (Mike) Pero of McCall, Idaho; one brother, Goble Trail Jr. of Matthews; one sister, Shirley Bewely of Matthews; four grandchildren, Bob Howard and Michael Hensley of Oroville, Calif., and Carlene Bliss and Gino Johnson of McCall; and 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren..
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl Trail, Dine Trail, Cat Trail and Marion Trail.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday at the First Christian Chruch in Matthews. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston with the Rev. Brian Smith and Lucas Polk officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Gerald Settles, Eddie Polk, Danny Trail, Bruce Bewley, Farrell Bewley and Lucas Polk.
Honorary pallbearer is Kenny Griffon.
Wilson Funeral Home of Fredericktown is in charge of arrangements.
