SIKESTON -- Lee Andrew "Lamus" Hamilton, 70, died Sept. 28, 2008, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born May 16, 1938, in Kewanee, son of the late David and Morean Hamilton, he attended Hooe Public School and retired from General Motors Corporation in St. Louis in 1972. He was a member of the Masonic Harmony Lodge 40 and New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Cleodis Hamilton, Larry Bernard Lance and John Henry Hamilton; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include: eight daughters and two sons, Brenda Tippett and Lowell Hamilton of Atlanta, Angela White of Sikeston, Scott (Tanieka) Hamilton and Karen (Andre) Lawrence of Chicago, Donna (Glenn) Adams of Columbia, Lillian Hamilton of Matteson, Ill., Sheri Ware of St. Louis, Christine Hamilton of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Bernadette Mansfield of Sikeston; nine brothers and sisters, Earlean Thomas and Don Weakley of Cape Girardeau, Mary Curry of St. Louis, Robert Hamilton of Desoto, Patricia Cagle of Caruthersville, Phyllis Rowe and Beverly Morris of Sikeston and Michael Hamilton of Haywood City.; and 42 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston.
Burial will follow in the New Morning Star Cemetery in Haywood City.
