SIKESTON - The downtown parking meters produced $512 in coins Monday when they were "robbed" by Police Chief Harold Wallace.

SIKESTON - Winner of a new bicycle in the bicycle safety program conducted during the summer by the auxiliary police in conjunction with the police department was Marty Godwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Godwin.

SIKESTON - The First Methodist Church congregation voted to convert the site of the old church into a memorial park and leave the six Ionic columns standing.

SIKESTON - Ray Niswonger was one of 10 bicyclists who showed up for the start of Saturday's Cystic Fibrosis Bike-A-Thon at the Recreation Complex. The riders rode a half-mile course for up to 3 1/2 hours to raise money for CF research.

EAST PRAIRIE - One taste of victory may have been all it took for the Dexter Bearcats to develop an appetite. Last week the margin of victory was narrow, but this week the outcome was never in question. Dexter dominated the line of scrimmage rolling up 360 yards in a 34-7 victory over the East Prairie Eagles.
