KENTUCKY LAKE, Ky. -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their eighth tournament of the year on Sept. 21 on Kentucky Lake out of the Fenton ramp.

Mike Estes won the tournament with five fish weighing 11 pounds, 9 ounces. Leven Cox was second with two fish weighing 5-5 and Jim Sindle took third place and Big Bass honors with one fish weighing 5-3. Don Porter won the "Lucky Drawing."

Most contestants reported catching many small fish but keeper bass measuring 15-inches longer or better were very difficult to catch due to dropping lake levels and unsettled weather conditions.

Leven Cox leads in the Angler-of-the-Year race with 2,078 points. Ty Garrett is second with 1,919 points and John Wilson is third with 1,619 points.

The club travels to Lake Guntersville in Alabama for their final tournament of the year, a two-day event, on October 24-25.

Anyone interested in joining the club should contact Club President Mike Estes at 620-2785 or Vice-President Leven Cox at 471-2471 after 5 p.m.
