DEXTER -- Mary Alma Woodruff, 91, died Oct. 6, 2008, at the Cypress Point Healthcare.
Born Jan. 1, 1917, near Essex, to the late John Anderson and Nancy Florence Godwin Lawrence, she had lived in the Dexter and Essex area. She worked for many years at the Brown Shoe Company and was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter.
On Oct. 20, 1934, in Essex, she married George Woodruff who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Gene Woodruff of Dexter; one niece, Marilyn Grubbs; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry L. Woodruff, and one sister, Edith Larock.
Graveside services were held today at the Essex Cemetery. The Rev. John Armbruster officiated.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter was in charge of arrangements.
