SIKESTON -- Ada Katherine Denfip Holmes, 97, formerly of Olive Branch, Ill., died at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 11, 2008, at the Clearview Nursing Center.
Born Oct. 5, 1911, at Olive Branch, to the late Smith Henderson and Nancy Oller Denfip, she attended the Trinity Baptist Church in Sikeston. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and had retired from a department store where she worked in human resources.
She first married Seth Randolph who preceded her in death in 1937. She later married Floyd Holmes who, in 1979, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Heidi Holmes of North Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Emma Jean Randolph of the state of Florida; two grandchildren, Michael Holmes and Patrice Holmes; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. William Marshall will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski, Ill.
