PERRYVILLE -- Ray Wibbenmeyer, 86, died Oct. 12, 2008, at Perryville.
Born Nov. 10, 1921, at Biehle, to the late Hugo Wibbenmeyer and Cecelia Lappe Wibbenmeyer, he had worked as a mechanic. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served as a corporal in a field artillery battalion and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, American Legion Post 133 and the V. F. W.
On June 16, 1950, he married Iona Cissell who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons, Charles Wibbenmeyer of Ste. Genevieve, Paul Wibbenmeyer of Oakland, Calif., Kevin Wibbenmeyer of Sikeston and Patrick Wibbenmeyer of Lexington, Ky.; one daughter, Mary Keesee of High Ridge; two brothers, Thomas Wibbenmeyer of Peoria, Ill., and Ralph Wibbenmeyer of Old Appleton; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. today at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m. followed by a VFW service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30-9:50 a.m. Wednesday with a rosary to be recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery with graveside military honors courtesy of the American Legion Post 133.
