ORAN -- Fred DeHart Jr., 82, died at 2:22 p.m. Oct. 13, 2008, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 1, 1926, at Vanduser, to the late Fred and Eunice Mable Brumly DeHart Sr., he was a retired construction taper and a self-employed horse trainer. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Cavalry during World War II in the Pacific and a former member of the St. Genevieve Saddle Club.
Survivors include: one son, Tom DeHart of St. Louis; two daughters, Joan Loos of Lebanon, Ill., and Sandy Eggemeyer of Ava, Ill.; one brother, Pat DeHart of Imperial; two sisters, Betty Fenton of Sikeston and Donnia Chapman of Pinckneyville, Ill.; and one granddaughter, Marissa DeHart of St. Louis.
Three brothers and eight sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation is scheduled at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Ed Carter officiating.
Burial will follow in the Friend Cemetery in Oran with full military rites provided by the Missouri Military Honor Guard.
