ADVANCE -- Sarah Gertrude Wade, 97, formerly of Lutesville, died at 8:45 a.m. Oct. 14, 2008, at the Advance Nursing Center.
Born Aug. 10, 1911, in Savannah, Tenn., to the late James Thomas and Amanda Love Hobbs, she was a housewife, a member of the Golden Ages Retired Senior Volunteer Program and was of the Pentecostal belief.
On June 10, 1934, she married James G. Wade who preceded her in death on July 31, 1979.
One daughter, two brothers, two sisters and three great-great-grandchildren also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James and Ilene Wade Jr. of Advance; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robbie and Albert Napier of DeSoto and Shirley and Jack Owens of Scott City; one son-in-law, Carl Napier of Sikeston; and 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday. The Revs. Jack Crawford and Vester Keesee will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Perkins.
Pallbearers will be: Albert Napier, James Wade, Ronnie Owens, Daryl Wade, Larry Wade and Timothy Napier.
