SIKESTON - The Sikeston Bulldogs roared back with a sizzling passing attack in the waning moments of the last quarter to come from behind and gain a 6-6 tie with Perryville's Pirates in a bruising grid clash at Perryville Friday night.

Oct. 19, 1968

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Sue Scott, Gale Skalsky and Judith Matthews, all of Sikeston, are among the 12 nominees for Homecoming Queen. Miss Scott is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Scott; Miss Skalsky is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Skalsy; and Miss Matthews is the daughter of James A. Matthews and Mrs. William Williams.

SIKESTON - Elizabeth Wilson spoke during the rededication of the American Cancer Society's moving Survivors' Wall at the Missouri Delta Medical Center lobby Friday. The 25-foot wall is dedicated to Wilson's mother, Mary Lou Montgomery. The American Cancer Society's moving wall was created a year ago in an effort to show women that being diagnosed with breast cancer does not mean the end. Rather, it signifies a new beginning.

SIKESTON - Kenzo Hill and Becky Hutching were honored recently by the Missouri Mentoring Partnership, as the top participants in Scott County in the program. Missouri Mentoring Partnership seeks to promote job skills for youth ages 16 to 22.

SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Spurlin Nelson were guests of honor for a golden wedding anniversary celebration on Sept. 26 at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Christy Nelson.
