BENTON -- The Scott County Commission received copies of the Bootheel Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission's Transportation Plan, Transit Plan and Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies during their regular meeting Tuesday.
"These are all requirements for service providers to be eligible for state and federal funding," said Steve Duke, executive director of the BRPC at Dexter.
Copies of the plans are being distributed to counties the BRPC serves "so they can have them on file in case anybody wants to see them," Duke said.
The BRPC "has been a benefit for Scott County," Presiding Commissioner Jamie Burger said.
He said the BRPC "probably doesn't get a lot of credit," for all they do for local communities. "I bet a lot of people don't know what Bootheel Regional is," Burger said.
In other business during Tuesday's meeting, commissioners reappointed Will Bucher of Oran to another three-year term on the county's Johnson grass board.
