CHARLESTON -- Martha Emma Gunter Rolan, 76, formerly of East Prairie, died at 5:35 p.m. Nov. 3, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born March 31, 1932, in Birdspoint, to the late Harvey Edward and Nancy J. Stewart Gunter, she had lived most of her life in Mississippi County.
On April 13, 1973, in East Prairie, she married John Lee Rolan, who preceded her in death on June 30, 1995.
Along with numerous brothers and sisters, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Edward Gunter, James E. Gunter and Homer David Gunter.
Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jim and Wanda Houston of St. Charles, John R. and Tammy Haynes of Winfield and Phillip E. Haynes and fiance Anna Fabian of St. Charles; six daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Jane and Terrill Borne of Spring, Texas, Jackie D. and Robert Nolen of Wyatt, Betty Jean and Kenny Bruce of McNeal, Ariz., Kimberly Sue and David Rogers of Princeton, Ky., Paula Rene and Gary Wilson of East Prairie and Chandra Lynn and Roger Forrester of Fulton, Ky.; and 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday with Jon Archie officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
