BLOOMFIELD -- A Sikeston man escaped injury after his tractor-trailer became stuck on railroad tracks Wednesday in Stoddard County.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 5:45 p.m. on County Road 512, three miles east of Bloomfield, a freightliner operated by Jerry W. Tomlinson, 67, of Sikeston got stuck on the tracks at a railroad crossing. Tomlinson was able to exit the vehicle before a northbound train operated by Michael E. Hammond, 41, of Bloomfield struck the vehicle. The crossing was not equipped with a signal device, the Patrol said. No other information was available.
