ABBEVILLE, S.C. -- Jack Monroe Pace, 57, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died Oct. 25, 2008, in Abbeville.

Born July 10, 1951, in Alexander County, Ill., to the late John Monroe and Florence Elizabeth Weakley Pace, he had lived most of his life in the Mississippi County, Mo., area where he was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Charleston.

Survivors include: one brother-in-law, Donald R. Smith of Wyatt, Mo.; three nieces, Margie A. Trotter of Abbeville, Melissa K. Smith of Essex, Mo., and Laura S. Smith of Townsville; one nephew, Donald R. Smith of Tucson, Ariz.; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Nora Mae Pace Smith.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the First General Baptist Church on West Ashby Street in Charleston where a memorial service will be held at noon Saturday.

Private burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
