DEXTER -- Wilma Courter VanPool, 81, died Nov. 8, 2008, at Bloomfield.

Born June 3, 1927, in Datlo, Ark., daughter of the late Dan and Willa Segraues Courter, she was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ.

She was first married to Charles Everett Pruitt, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 21, 1953, in Piggott, Ark., she married George Clifton "Bud" VanPool, who preceded her in death on July 29, 1992.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Rufus Courter, Donald Courter, Billy Courter, W.D. Courter and Ronald Courter; and two sisters Helen Harris and Aline Thorman.

Survivors include: two sons, Darris "Gene" Pruitt of Wappapello and Michael Wayne Pruitt of Bloomfield; one daughter, Anita Louise Duba of Puxico; two sisters, Wanda Green of Wappapello and Maxine Barber of Dexter; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. Dale Grissom will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
