CAPE GIRARDEAU - Junior Calvin Williams returned to basketball practice at Southeast Missouri State Friday, Nov. 7.
Interim Director of Athletics Cindy Gannon suspended Williams from all basketball activities on Oct. 25 and announced Friday that he would return to practice, but will be suspended for the exhibition game Saturday night against MacMurray and road games next week at New Mexico and Kansas State.
Williams appeared in court on Thursday and the judge gave him a suspended imposition of sentence and placed him on probation. Gannon said she feels the University has fully investigated the case and the ruling made by the court.
"I think we have considered all issues and have been fair with our process and punishment," Gannon said. "Calvin has been out of practice since Oct. 25 and will miss a total of four contests. The University considers the case closed and will have no further comment."
