DEXTER -- Marvin DeJournett, 84, died Nov. 7, 2008, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Born April 30, 1924, near Gray Ridge, to the late Marshall and Mary Annis DeJournett, he had worked in maintenance for General Motors. He had been a resident of Michigan for 30 years before moving back to Dexter in 1982. He was of the Baptist belief.
On June 13, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., he married Margaret Popps who preceded him in death on Oct. 18, 2006.
He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Lloyd DeJournett, Cletus DeJournett, Woodrow DeJournett, Clemmer DeJournett, Cleo DeJournett and Milo DeJournett.
Survivors include: one brother, Wiley DeJournett of Dexter; and one sister, Kathleen Givens of Cape Girardeau.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at the Dexter Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter will officiate.
