CHAFFEE-- Brenda Louise Stroder, 65, died Nov. 9, 2008, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.
Born Dec. 18, 1942, at Blodgett, to the late Elmo "Bill" and Mary Orzella Lindsey Gunter, she retired as the postmaster of Whitewater Post Office. She served as president of the Scott County Historical Society and the Scott County Democrat Club. She was a member of the Cape Girardeau County Historical Society, Chaffee Historical Society and Eighth District Women's Democratic Club.
Survivors include: one son, Skip (Jamie) Stroder of Crump; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stroder of the state of California; three brothers, James "Al" Gunter of Chaffee, Roy Gunter of Benton and Daniel Gunter of Seattle; one sister, Sharon Anielake of Benton; and two grandchildren, Cody Michael Schremp and Tyler Stroder of Crump.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Gunter and Gene Gunter.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating.
Burial will follow in the Barks Chapel Cemetery in Crump.
