CHARLESTON -- Jeanette Riley, 70, died at 6:25 a.m. Nov. 11, 2008, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Jan. 19, 1938, in Mounds City, Ill., to the late Thomas J. and Lydia Russell Allensworth, since 1955 she had lived in Charleston where she was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church and had worked at Muellers Farm Market until her retirement. In 2007, she was named Charleston Nutrition Center's Volunteer of the Year.
On Jan. 22, 1955, she married Earl Russell Riley who preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1997.
Survivors include: one son, Jeff Riley of Jefferson City; one daughter, Angela Riley of Charleston; one sister, Cora Simpson of Sikeston; one brother, Leland Eugene Allensworth of Rockford, Ill.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Dolph Webb of Charleston.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with the Rev. Scott Sunnenberg, pastor, serving as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Kody Riley, Ricky Riley, Jeffrey Riley, Denny Stallings, Dustin Stallings and Darryl Riley.
