Kelley Nelson
BENTON -- Kelley Melvin Nelson, 73, formerly of Sikeston, died Nov. 10, 2008, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 10, 1935, in Sikeston, to the late George Marvin and Hope Kelley Nelson, he had lived most of his life in Sikeston where he had been employed for a number of years with Wholesale Food Distributing and had been assistant manager at the Ramada Inn. He attended the Morehouse Church of Christ.
He is survived by his life companion Betty Jean Haley of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Kelley Nelson Jr. of Sikeston; four daughters, Lisa Stewart and Cheryl Faulkner of Sikeston, Brenda Collins of Benton and Jennifer Green of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Nelson.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Sikeston with the Rev. Ted Wimberley, pastor of the New Bethel Baptist Church of rural Charleston, officiating.
