PUXICO -- Jerry Edward Park, 65, died Nov. 13, 2008, at the John J. Pershing Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Jan. 17,, 1943, in Oran, son of J. D. and Edith Griffin Parks of Puxico, he had lived in Texas for seventeen years where he owned his own mobile home service business in Midland, Texas. He moved back to Puxico six years ago. He was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church in Midland, Texas and had attended the Providence Baptist Church near Puxico. He was an ordained minister and had served, as pastor, churches in the Puxico area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had served in Japan, Thailand and Germany during his six years of service.
Survivors in addition to his parents include: one daughter, Julia C. Wiblin of Dallas; one stepson, Paul Grant of Yakima, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Lisa Strehlow of Grapevine, Texas; one sister, Hermena Holigan of Dallas; and six step-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. Donald Adams of Matthews will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield.
