Idell Baert

CHAFFEE -- Idell Baert, age 90, of Chaffee, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2008.

She was born Aug. 26, 1918, at Scopus, to the late John and Frances Welker Hanners. She worked and retired from Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chaffee and was a member of the General Baptist Church in Chaffee.

On July 11, 1942, she married Robert A. Baert, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1991.

Seven brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.

Idell was a great cook and loved cooking for her family. She liked to quilt and travel. She enjoyed going out to drink her morning coffee with her daughter.

Survivors include: one son, Robert "Bob" Baert of Chaffee; three daughters, Ruth Ann Sadler of Chaffee, Helen Gill-Wilferth of Jackson and Dorothy Bowers of Gordonville; and seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Visitation is at 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Joe Payne will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
