POPLAR BLUFF -- Billy Braden Lomax, 81, died Nov. 16, 2008, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Nov. 6, 1927, at Franklin, Tenn., to the late Robert Hiram and Sarah Emmaline Sanders Lomax, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. He retired as a maintenance supervisor at Three Rivers Community College and was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War.
On Oct. 24, 1952, at Holcomb, he married Troyce Ann Rollins, who survives of the home in Poplar Bluff.
Other survivors include: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve Lomax of Sikeston and Ron and Karen Lomax of O'Fallon; two daughters and a son-in-law, Luann and Dave Elledge and Lana Lomax of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren, Lauren Elledge Hasanova and husband, Zaur, Lyndsee Elledge and Luke Elledge of Poplar Bluff and Braden Lomax, Kaylan Lomax and Kelsey Lomax of O'Fallon; one special niece, Derotha Skaggs of Poplar Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Revs. Ron Lomax and Dave Elledge will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
