SIKESTON -- Willie Savage Jr., 58, died Nov. 15, 2008, at the Clearview Nursing Center.
Born March 13, 1950, in West Memphis, Ark., to the late Willie and Mary Mitchell Savage, he had lived for over 50 years in Sikeston where he was employed as a truck driver and for the Sikeston Public Schools. He was a member of the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ where he served in many capacities.
He and his wife, Rita, were married in Sikeston on March 2, 1992. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, Frederick and Lori Savage of Memphis and Jeremy Hunt, Dion and Rhonesha Savage and Elgin Hunt of Sikeston; four daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela Savage of Memphis, Vonda Dixon and Vivian Dixon of Sikeston and Teresa and Aubrey Coleman of Columbia; two sisters, Mary Lois Wright of Atlanta and Maxine Johnson of St. Louis; and 31 grandchildren including a grandson whom he raised, Alvin Hinds of Sikeston.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston with the Bishop Charlie Green Jr., pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
