Dorothy Spears

PIEDMONT -- Dorothy Leona Spears, 84, formerly of Dexter, died Nov. 18, 2008, at the Clark's Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont.

Born Feb. 24, 1924, in Biggers, Ark., to the late Issac Perryman and Barbara Jane Trippt Perryman, she was a member of the New Bethel Church in Dexter and a homemaker.

On Jan. 5, 1957, in Tunica, Miss., she married Grady Spears, who survives of the home in Dexter.

Other survivors include: one stepdaughter, Sarah Chandler of Cabot, Ark.; and three stepgrandchildren and six great-stepgrandchildren.

Preceding her in death were: three brothers, Joe Perryman, Issac Perryman, and Charles Perryman; and four sisters, Sarah Cox, Agnes Edwards, Martha Hager and Ethel Fox.

Visitation will be from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Clifford Wray will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Dunklin County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
