INDEPENDENCE -- Marisa Lorraine Aiello and Matthew Raymond Maher were united in marriage during an afternoon ceremony July 5, 2008, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Jerry Brownlee officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Kate Aiello of Sikeston and Carl Aiello of Fairbanks, Alaska. The parents of the bridegroom are Kay and Ray Maher of Independence.
Matron and maid of honor were Mirra Anson of St. Louis, and Trista Douglas of Sikeston. Adam Shoaf of Independence served as best man.
The reception was held at the Chapel Ridge Banquet Center in Lees Summit.
The bride received a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit. She is pursuing a master's degree in nursing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
The bridegroom received both a bachelor's degree in history and master's degree in education from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a library media specialist at Randall Elementary in Independence.
After a honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Maher are making their home in Independence.
