DEXTER -- Thelma Lovetta Cookson, 69, formerly of Granite City, Ill., died Nov. 22, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 28, 1939, near Bloomfield, to the late Archie Arvel and Clara Gladys Cooper Warren, she moved to Dexter 22 years ago and had worked for 19 years at Arvin Automotive.
She married Lyman Cookson in St. Louis who preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 2008.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Warren, Arvona Walker and Kay Nevels.
Survivors include: one daughter, Marva Cookson of Dexter; one sister, Marjorie Sadler of Bloomfield; three brothers, Ken Warren of Madison, Ill., Larry "Butch" Warren of Granite City and Wayne Warren of Salem; and one grandson.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Bill Pennington of Bloomfield will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.
