HAYTI -- Nelwyn T. Porter, 92, formerly of Greenfield, Tenn., died Dec. 1, 2008, at the Memorial Nursing Home in Hayti.
Born March 17, 1916, in Medina, Tenn., to the late Cary and Una McAdoo Todd, she was in the Women's Medical Auxiliary in Weakly County,, Tenn., and a member of the United Methodist Women's Association in Greenfield.
In 1940, at Medina, she married Ira Ford Porter, and he preceded her in death in 1990.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Todd.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Todd and Jane Porter of Irving, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Janna and Gary Raney of Portageville and Nan Porter and Johnny Butler of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Lucille Allen of Milam, Tenn.; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the Pemiscot Memorial Nursing Home and from 6-8 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Highland Cemetery in Greenfield.
