SIKESTON - Judge and Mrs. T.F. Henry held open house at their home this afternoon in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary and Henry's birthday.
SIKESTON - Two members of the Missouri Delta Community Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary were presented 15-year service pins last night during the annual recognition banquet at the Holiday Inn. Lillian Acord and Gladys Lewis, both of Sikeston, received the honor.
SIKESTON - The Sikeston City Council may sign a lease agreement with Union Pacific Railroad about the train depot if more negotiations can secure a financial recovery clause in case the railroad terminates their contract. If the council signs a lease agreement, the city would only own title to the depot, not the land underneath it.

ORAN - Gideon's upset run in the 43rd Annual Oran Invitational Tournament came to a screeching halt in the finals on Friday night, as the top-seeded Kelly Hawks lived up to their billing by cruising to an uncontested 72-56 win.
