SIKESTON - Thirty years ago, Dr. Joe Blanton remembers, Missouri Delta Medical Center's pediatrics ward was a small room packed with six or eight cribs. "We've come a long, long way," said Blanton, an MDMC pediatrician. "We've had to send some kids to the cities that we could have treated here because we didn't have the equipment." A group of about 50 fund raisers hope to change that. They want to raise $600.000 to give the pediatrics department its first major renovation since 1962.
