SIKESTON - The Bracy Development Co. of Little Rock, Ark., submitted the apparent low bid for the construction of 75 units for the elderly Thursday afternoon at the Sikeston Housing Authority office.

MOREHOUSE - Sixty-eight senior citizens attended Thursday's Christmas party given in their behalf by the community at the public school gymnasium.

PORTAGEVILLE - Newly elected members of the Missouri House of Representatives toured the University of Missouri Delta Center near Portageville Thursday. The first term representatives got a first hand look at state facilities throughout Missouri this month.

MINER - The Miner City Council approved advertising for trash pick up bids at its regular December meeting. The council voted Tuesday to bill residents through the city rather than allow the waste hauler to charge the homeowners. The bid allows for trash pickup either once or twice a week. The trash hauler will be guaranteed 290 of an estimated 340 homes in Miner. The city will begin accepting bids next week with a Jan. 3, 1989, deadline.

SIKESTON - Bart W. Smith, who enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps last May, is a recruiter assistant at the Marine Corps Recruiting Station in Sikeston. He is the son of Wayne and Doris Smith of Sikeston and is expected to proceed to Pensacola, Fla., upon completion of his assignment here.

SIKESTON - In the City of Lights decorating contest, business category winners were: Accent Shop, first place; Show Me Rental, second place; and Union Planter's South, third place. In the home category, 924 Hawthorne was first; 1007 Willow St. was second; and 205 Kennedy placed third.
