Not near enough

I cannot believe that there is nothing else to spend the State Auditor's time on then a ridiculous report that has been repeated several times in their audits. The auditors even admit that this situation isn't likely to change so why bother repeating it unless it is the exact same article just re-printed each year. The fact that Mr. Delay is receiving a mere $100 a week to maintain the Courthouse yard is not near enough compensation for what he does. I have seen the Courthouse yard and I have met Mr. Delay and his family. I can assure you this $100 a week is not Mr. Delay's motivation for doing this job. I also know that coming from a small town - the job duties listed for this position are minor and what Mr. Delay does is not even part of job duties. In fact, you should be running a special article on how people volunteer extra hours to his/her community in an effort to make it better. Mr. Delay should be the first one interviewed. Mr. Delay has a busy family life, but yet takes time and pride in providing a community service. Why is it that people will complain, but never volunteer his/her time to do what they are complaining about? I am sure Mr. Delay would be happy to train someone from the State Auditors Department, any of the newspapers that print this article or anyone else willing to give up his/her personal time for little pay. I believe in volunteering and giving back, but when people say ungrateful words and try to make something so wonderful into something so horrible it just ticks me off. And as far as the previous comment about if Mr. Delay is the commissioner or clerk - I would ask, are you volunteering your time for a mere $100/week? If not, then find something better to do then to chastise someone else for doing good!

Roach rage

Does anyone know the best route to take to force an apartment complex to care enough about the health of its' residents to perform monthly spraying for roaches? A local apartment complex is infested, yet frequent requests for monthly spraying have been met with deaf ears. Residents have been told that it is their responsibility to combat the pests with roach gel. Unless every single apartment is treated regularly, roach gel does nothing except create a hazard for young children. It's sad that good tenants have to move from NICE apartments because the roaches are taking over! Why should a child have to suffer?
