SIKESTON - Hutson Goza, a Gray Ridge land owner, told the Optimist Club at the Rustic Rock of his summer tour behind the Iron Curtain. He gave an illustrated color slide projection show of life in Russia and Czechoslovakia.

SIKESTON - A quartet from the Sikeston Community Choir performed "Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming" at the choir's 21st annual Christmas concert Sunday afternoon. Members of the quartet are Kathy Wilson, Linda Norton, Terry Patton and Nancy Bird.

DEXTER - Dorothy Rankin is the new president of the Dexter Memorial Auxiliary. Other new officers are Ruby Watson, vice president; Ruth Bailey, secretary; and Dorothy Trotter, treasurer. Elsie Warren was named 1988 Auxilian of the Year. . Receiving bars for the highest number of housr, 4,5000, were Eva Culbertson and Belle Drobaz.

SIKESTON - Officials with Bootheel Healthy Start Project are seeking proposals from local organizations, agencies and groups for conducting community-based intervention programs that will reduce infant deaths and improve the health of infants in Scott, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot and Dunklin counties. Selected proposals can receive from $2,000 to $10,000 in funds for projects to be conducted during the coming year.
