Bertie Johnson

Born Sept. 13, 1931, in Patterson, Ark., daughter of the late Albert Nathaniel and Cora Elizabeth Tippy Owens, she had lived in Dexter since 1960. She and her husband had owned Johnson Refrigeration before retirement and she was of the Baptist belief.

On Oct. 4, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., she married J.W. Johnson who preceded her in death on June 15, 1995.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Marie Atnip; and three brothers, Revis Owens, Doyle Owens and Robert Owens.

Survivors include: two sons, Mike Johnson of Poplar Bluff and Jason Johnson of Dexter; two daughters, Rhonda Hall of Dexter and Jeanine Bomar of Jackson; two brothers, Warren Owens of Farmington and Bobby Owens of Steele; and 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday. Dr. Bill Vail of Poplar Bluff will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
